What is the Snipping Tool?
The Snipping Tool is a built-in Windows application that allows a user to select and capture a screenshot of a specific area on their screen. It’s a very simple and intuitive tool that can come in very handy. Many people like to use this tool to create visual directions.
So without further ado...
THE STEPS:
Step 1: Opening the tool

I use the snipping tool dozens of times a day at work! It's a quick and easy way to capture information. On my Mac, I push COMMAND + SHIFT + 4 to select an area to screenshot.
ReplyDeleteI also use the snipping tool quite a bit in my job. It has come in handy for so many things. From the process guides I create for new hires, to a quick answer to a colleague looking for something on the computer and don't know what it looks like. Snip it!
ReplyDeleteThis was an excellent tutorial and also showed the usefulness of snip it. Using snip it and it’s functions that are available in with it just shows how easy and efficient it is, especially when working with a “How To”. I use it very regularly when I am making how to documents. Nice post.
ReplyDeleteExcellent work! What did you use to annotate your snippets? Did you just open the screenshot and click "Edit" and add the arrows and text that way? Or did you use another app?
